I have no idea what we’ll do this year yet, but last year I made 20 tissue cozies for my son’s preschool classmates. I’m sure the kids would’ve preferred candy but figured the parents would appreciate the tissues during cold and flu season.
Depending on how far you want to carry the theme, attach a card with the following message:
“Knock, knock.”
“Who’s there?”
“Ah-choo!”
“Ah-choo who?”
“Ah-choose YOU for my Valentine!”
Grown-ups may gag at the punny sentiment, but at least a tissue will be close at hand.
You can click here to read the how-to article I wrote for AP. This really is a very easy project, but the written instructions make it sound more confusing than it is, so here’s my attempt at illustration via Photoshop.
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve been searching for something for my daughter’s class for valentines and this is it. I made a tissue cozy for my daughter to keep in her desk and all the kids wanted one…now I have a reason to make them one :). One year I made crayon rolls for them…you could put You color my world…or you make my world colorful…etc…Good luck with finding something and thanks again.
Too Cute! Thanks for posting a how to!
I think I can do this! Thanks for the inspiration!
I LOVE these! The Knock Knock is perfect. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog…I can’t wait to read more of yours.
Holly,
Thanks so much for leaving such a kind comment on my blog. Your color book is amazing and I never would have thought of the idea on my own so thank you for your inspiration! The Valentine tissue cozy idea is also excellent. I’m sure the parents appreciated the effort. I just might use that idea as well. You truly have a gift!
Aaaaaaahhhh!!!! That doesn’t even begin to convey how awesome this is! I *literally* just made my first one. Now I’m off to make a template from paper so I can cut and cut and cut and then do some sewing. You SOOOO rock! Thank you for posting this!
P.S. Now can you post ideas on how to make a cute (easy) skirt for my daughter? Ha, ha!

How ADORABLE?!?!?! Thanks for sharing – I have zero sewing talents, but I would have loved to make this for my daughter’s preschool class – so clever! (I would totally appreciate a pack of tissues & a cozy instead of a bag of candy!) Maybe next Valentine’s Day, I’ll work up enough courage to attempt this project!
I made one to match the big purse I made for my sister’s baby shower gift and I linked to you here:
